Maternity Acupressure method
induces labor naturally
Just Us Together
by Anna Farrelly
Three weeks before your birth on the 11th of November 2006 I felt the first contraction. I lost some mucus and was convinced you would be early. Each night you kicked and pushed against my bladder. Braxton Hicks would turn my stomach as hard as stone. Pains would come and go, come and go… I had it all wrong.
You would think that the third time around I would be able to predict when I was going into labour, but no one can, not even your own mother.
I was 7:00 a.m., Saturday morning. Your sisters had crawled into our bed around 6. Everyone was fast asleep except me. For the past half hour I had been having contractions, they had never lasted this long. By now I was 11 days past my due date. Would this be it?
7:30, Everyone awake, another day in the Farrelly household. I went downstairs to make breakfast for the girls and your dad had a shower. Life went on as normal, but this time I was beginning to enter ‘labour land’; the contractions kept coming and they were getting stronger.
So when your father came downstairs I told him that this time, after many false alarms, the baby was finally on its way out.
